Today is my birthday! And I couldn’t be any happier. When I was a child, I used to celebrate my birthday twice: one with my classmates at school and the other with my family and neighbors. It was very funny. I have really great memories about this.
My favorite birthday party was at the school, because I was with all my friends with whom I shared day to day. The party at home was more family oriented. My grandmother, the most special person in my life, always used to make my favorite cookies: Chocolate Chip Cookies. It was always fun. If you have been following me for some time now, you know that my grandmother was a very important person in my life and from all the people closest to me who have passed away, she is the one I miss the most. If she was alive today, she would be very proud of me and would be the number one fan of this blog. I’m pretty sure about that.
This year, I flew to Havana to spend my 33rd birthday with my family and friends. As a child I always dreamed that at 33 years old, I would have my own family, just like my mother who at 33 was already a married woman, had a university degree in Nursing and had me in her arms with only 1 year old.
However, it has not gone so badly. My friends who already have a family tell me not to hurry, that I still have time. They say when children arrive, life goes by very quickly. And I think it’s the best advice I’ve received in recent years.
Today I only have one wish. My wish is for you to visit my blog (http://www.livingbetterwitholi.com) and join me day by day in this adventure that began last year with all the illusion of the world.
