Chicago, the city of skyscrapers and tons of snow in winter, also known as the windy city, is a really lovely city. In winter you’ll see tons of snow, however in summer, it’s very picturesque and cheerful.
As I mentioned previously, this trip was very special because it was the first time in my life that I traveled alone, but I just fell accompanied by the heat of tourists and the city itself all the time. I spent only 5 days, but it was enough to cover much of the city and discover places that I now feel very fortunate to have visited. Here’s some of my favorite spots, hope you like it.
The Dearborn – In the heart of Chicago, close to the renowned theaters and shops, we can find this gem of a restaurant. Particularly it can be visited at any time of the day, whether for lunch or just for drinks. The kitchen closes at 10 pm, but then they have the open bar where you can enjoy a few drinks. Daley Manhattan was my favorite cocktail there.
The Kitchen – Enjoying your favorite beverage by the river, overlooking the city of Chicago is just priceless. This restaurant is very well located in a very nice building on the river. The menu is very wide and has dishes for all kinds of tastes and a great variety of drinks. Friendly atmosphere and very good service.
Untitled Supper Club – I discovered this place through a friend who lives in Chicago and made a reservation for me I was just looking for a place to listen to some music and have dinner. To my surprise, I found a place that takes you back to the 1950s and being in a basement, it gives a clandestine touch. It has 3 different areas and very cozy, I was in the dining room at a table right in front of the stage, where I enjoyed a spectacular night of blues.
Giordano – We know that the Magnificent Mile is very famous for its shops and luxury hotels, but you can not say goodbye to Chicago without trying their famous pizza. I do not remember exactly how much it weighed, but more than 1 pound for sure. They were delicious. You can also order it for take out. The site is very famous so it takes about one hour to get your food once you order. I advise you to make the order and then give yourself a ride.
The PURPLE pig – In the middle of one of the most famous areas of Chicago (Magnificent Mile), you will find this restaurant. Very good atmosphere and creative dishes with top quality ingredients. You may have to wait a little, but you can sit on the terrace to wait. If you do not like sharing a table with other people, you can expect a table for two.
